When you win a bid, we will send a notification with an attached invoice to the email address associated with your account. The invoice will include payment instructions.
In your account, you will also see an option to pay for the winning lot with simple instructions on how to complete the payment.
Payment for the vehicle is accepted only via bank transfer (wire transfer).
Follow these steps to make a payment:
Go to the “Invoices” page.
Find the specific lot you want to pay for and click the PDF icon in the “Actions” section. This will allow you to download the invoice for the vehicle payment along with wire transfer instructions.
We recommend bank transfer as one of the safest and most efficient ways to pay for your purchase. Bank transfers are usually simple and can typically be completed online through your bank’s internet banking system.
If you are unsure how to send a bank transfer, please contact your financial institution for specific instructions.
International bank transfers may go through intermediary banks, which may charge additional processing fees on top of your sending bank’s fees. These fees will be deducted from the amount sent to StatVIN, so please take them into account when making your payment.
After completing the transfer, upload your payment confirmation as instructed in your invoice.
If your payment is not credited within 24–48 hours for domestic transfers or 48–72 hours for international transfers, please contact customer support.
Payment for Vehicles and Services
When you become the High Bidder at an auction, your account will be updated, and a notification with an attached invoice will be sent to the email address registered in our system.
To view the auction results, log in to your account and go to the “My Purchases” page in the user menu.
Buyers will receive a notification at the email address registered in our system once the payment has been cleared.
Buyers can also check the status of their payment by logging into their account and navigating to the “Invoices” page.
Payment for your purchase of any item (including applicable Auction Fees) must be received by StatVIN by 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) on the next business day following the sale date. A “business day” means any weekday that is not a U.S. federal holiday.
Note: for international customers, payment must be received by 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) on the second business day following the sale date.
A late payment fee of fifty US dollars ($50) will be charged for each day of payment delay.
If payment for the purchase is not received, the lot will be relisted. You will forfeit your deposit, and a relist penalty fee will be charged in the amount of $600 or 10% of the vehicle purchase price for Copart auctions, and $1000 or 15% of the vehicle purchase price for IAAI auctions — whichever is greater — plus the StatVIN Transaction Fee.
The processing time for a wire transfer depends on the financial institution handling the transfer.
Please check with your bank for their specific processing timelines.
After completing the wire transfer, please upload the payment confirmation as indicated in the invoice.
No. If you are not the high bidder, you are not required to make any payment.
You may continue bidding on other auctions or request a refund of your security deposit.
In addition to the final vehicle price, the buyer is responsible for paying:
- StatVIN Transaction Fee
- Copart Auction Fee or IAAI Auction Fee
- Website Processing Fees
Payment for your purchase of any item (including applicable Auction Fees) must be received by StatVIN by 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) on the next business day following the sale date. A “business day” means any weekday that is not a U.S. federal holiday.
Note: For international customers, payment must be received by 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) on the second business day following the sale date.
A late payment fee of fifty US dollars ($50) will be charged for each business day of delay. Storage Fees will also be charged if your vehicle is not removed on time.
If any vehicle purchased using the StatVin Services is not picked up (see Delivery Rules & Policies) from the Copart or IAAI facility (or any other location where the vehicle is awaiting pickup) within the time specified by the respective facility, you will be required to pay StatVin storage fees.
The number of days during which you may avoid storage charges before they begin to accrue is as follows: two days after the sale date for Buy It Now lots, and three days for regular auctions.
Storage fees are charged daily and increase each day after the grace period ends (up to thirty US dollars ($30) per day). You are responsible for reviewing the storage fees set by the respective facility before placing a bid on any vehicle. Once your vehicle is considered abandoned, storage fees will no longer be charged.
For a full list of fees, please visit our Rules and Policies page.
Bank transfers sent by customers from abroad may be processed by one or more intermediary banks before reaching us. In some cases, these banks may charge a processing fee of $20–$30 or more (in addition to the wire transfer fee charged by your bank), and this fee is deducted from the transferred amount.
We must receive the payment in full: these processing fees are your responsibility and should be taken into account when sending a wire transfer.
