Why is a deposit required and how to increase Buyer Power?

Why is a deposit required and how to increase Buyer Power?

Each participant is required to place a deposit before bidding on a lot. The deposit is placed in advance as a guarantee that the participant will pay for the vehicle they purchase.

Your deposit also determines your Buyer Power. This is the maximum bid amount that a participant can place.

Buyer Power

The minimum deposit required to place a bid is $600. If you want to bid on multiple lots or place a bid exceeding $6000, you should increase your Buyer Power by placing an additional deposit of 10% (minimum $600) of your intended bid.

Participants can increase their security deposit at any time by logging into their account and going to the “Deposit” page.

Deposit refund

The deposit is fully refundable after the purchase is paid and the vehicle is collected from the auction yard, or if you have no active bids or outstanding balances. Your deposit may be applied toward the cost of the vehicle unless it was made via bank transfer.

Payment methods

The Security Deposit may be made via bank transfer or Stripe. If payment is made via bank transfer, the funds must be sent to the StatVIN bank account before the deposit appears in the user’s StatVIN account. To verify whether the deposit has been received, log into your account and go to the “Deposit” page.

Cancellation fees

The deposit is required to cover fees in cases where a buyer wins an auction but refuses to pay for the vehicle. Refusal to complete the purchase of a vehicle won at auction will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
